The M-block lobby / locker room area

We decided that we wanted to make this space a bit more useful, somewhere a little social with somewhere to sit and chat. But we didn't want to feel like we were being watched all the time, so we had to do something about the wall of windows that look out onto the school reception.

We decided to keep the walls calm and neutral, and to add a little bit of interest with silhouettes of people queueing up to use the toilets...! Around each doorway we decided to put a swell of colour - blue outside the girls toilet and red outside the boys - to link through into the colours used on the walls inside.

We wanted a big curved bench along the far wall under the windows and silhouettes of people continued across the windows with a glass-etch effect so that the space isn't such a goldfish bowl.

Lastly, we designed mirrored panels for the pillar, with signs to 'boys' and 'girls' cut out of the stainless steel.
