3. What we like/don't like about school We collected evidence about the best and worst bits of school. Some people's favourite bits of school were others' least favourite, so when we printed out the photos we'd taken, we used sticky speech bubbles to put our comments on the back. Yellow bubbles for stuff we LIKE and grey bubbles for stuff we DON'T LIKE. Here are just a few examples:

WE LIKE THIS BECAUSE: - it's something to do at break. - it's new-fashioned, well set out, good fun and not destroyed. WE DON'T LIKE THIS BECAUSE: - people play football on it instead of basketball. WE DON'T LIKE THIS BECAUSE: - there's no lid so the litter gets out. - it stinks. - it's not emptied often enough and when it's windy the rubbish blows about. WE LIKE THIS BECAUSE: - it's new. - you can store your bike there so it encourages you to ride to school. - it's used well. - it's useful. - we can come to school on our bikes, which is healthy and good for the environment. WE LIKE THIS BECAUSE: - it's a really cool place. - it's downhill. - it's different. WE DON'T LIKE THIS BECAUSE: - it's too overgrown. - it's dirty at the bottom. - the slabs are wonky. - the benches are old and hidden in the bushes. - slippery leaves. WE DON'T LIKE THIS BECAUSE: - don't always understand the explanations. - could homework be a bit more interesting and fun? WE LIKE THIS BECAUSE: - it's not expensive and you can get milk, fruit and water. - it's nicely decorated and you can buy healthy stuff cheaply. - everything's only 20p. - Cold drinks! Flavoured water! Milkshakes! WE DON"T LIKE THIS BECAUSE: - the paint is flaking off. - it's mankey. WE DON"T LIKE THIS BECAUSE: - it's too dirty. - you can't see out. WE LIKE THIS BECAUSE: - there's lots of space. - you're free to roam and you can play with your friends. - there are places to rest - but it's the only proper shade. WE LIKE THIS BECAUSE: - you can hide in here. WE DON'T LIKE THIS BECAUSE: - bad smells. - toilets do not flush and pipes leak. - they're smelly and disgusting. - people throw towels on the floor. - there's never any soap or hot water.
